Blaine Webster, B.Sc., P.Geo., President and Co-Founder
Blaine is an internationally respected geophysicist and a leading authority on the use of spectral induced polarization methods. Utilizing over 40 years of geophysical experience and a thorough understanding of a wide variety of geophysical methods including IP, EM, Magnetics and Gravity, Blaine has helped clients make numerous discoveries since JVX was founded in 1983. For nearly 30 years Blaine has been focused on building JVX into the go-to provider of geophysical services for the mineral exploration industry.
Blaine graduated from the University of British Columbia in 1971. Prior to founding JVX, Blaine worked for Inco Limited, first as a Field Geophysicist, and later as a Geophysicist in the Sudbury Basin. In 1979, Blaine became the Manager of Ground and Borehole Surveys for Scintrex Ltd. Blaine is also President of Goldeye Explorations Ltd. (ggy.v) a TSX-Venture listed junior resource company with projects in Canada and Chile.
Chris Hobbs, B.Sc., Manager of Logistics
Chris is responsible for the efficient coordination of JVX field surveys around the globe. Chris organizes field crews, coordinates mobilizations and demobilizations, and oversees a team dedicated to making sure that JVX field crews have the proper equipment and support that they need to safely and successfully complete surveys.
Chris joined the JVX team in 2000, prior to which he was responsible for field operations at a number of junior mining companies, accumulating over 20 years of field experience in the exploration industry.
Chris earned his Bachelor of Science degree from York University in 1995.
Alex Jelenic, B.Sc., Field Project Manager, R&D
Alex is responsible for overseeing field projects at JVX. Alex works with clients to tailor proposals to their exact needs, ensures that surveys are conducted in an efficient manner, performs 2D and 3D modelling of geophysical data, and collaborates on final reporting and communication of results. Alex is also responsible for R&D at JVX, and in this capacity ensures that JVX is continually at the forefront of innovation in geophysical hardware, software, and survey methods.
During the course of his employment with JVX Alex has led projects throughout Canada and internationally including Dominican Republic, Sweden, and Australia.
Alex earned a B.Sc. in Earth Science from York University and has been employed with JVX since 1996 in positions of increasing responsibility.
Dennis Palos, B.Sc., Field Project Manager
Dennis manages field surveys at JVX. In this capacity Dennis participates in survey planning, data interpretation, and anomaly targeting. Overseeing the acquisition of data, Dennis ensures that field crews are well trained and up to date in their knowledge of data acquisition procedures so that they properly execute survey specifications and collect the highest quality data possible.
Dennis Palos graduated with a B.Sc. in Geophysics and is fluent in French and Spanish. He has worked for geophysical consulting firms since 1984 doing mineral exploration and geotechnical studies.
Haileyesus Wondimu, B.Sc., M.Sc., Data Processing and Modelling Manager
Haileyesus is responsible for managing the Data Processing and Modelling team at JVX. He has extensive knowledge and experience in 2D and 3D inversion/modelling of IP/Resistivity, gravity, magnetic and TDEM/FDEM data. Haileyesus is also responsible for interpretation and report writing for both downhole and surface projects, and actively contributes to JVX’s research and development efforts.
Haileyesus has 20 years of experience in exploration geophysics as applied to mineral exploration, environmental impact assessment, underground water exploration and geothermal energy resources.
Haileyesus received a B.Sc. in Physics and Geology and holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Exploration Geophysics. Haileyesus has worked as a research assistant on spectral analysis of superconducting gravimeter data at York University. Prior to joining JVX, Haileyesus worked as an exploration geophysicist and energy physicist in Africa. Haileyesus is fluent in Amharic and a number of local Ethiopian languages. |
